About HCLS

Holy Cross Lutheran School

Holy Cross Lutheran School has a tradition of excellence that dates back to 1849, preparing children to succeed as future leaders in their church and their community. We encourage all parents to visit their child’s classroom at any time. Home and school cooperation is a key factor in the education of children.

Growing in Faith

We joyfully study God’s Word each and every day! In our classrooms and hallways, through our teachers, staff and Holy Cross family we learn about His unfailing love. God’s love is an overwhelming influence on everything that happens here at Holy Cross.

A Chapel service is attended by our K-8 students once weekly and our Preschool students join us once a month. Parents are always welcome to join us in chapel.

Missions, charities and other church supported agencies are supported with our offerings from students and staff.

Growing in Service

Holy Cross students are taught the importance of serving with gracious hearts. The student’s service in our community is a critical part of understanding of helping others. We also believe serving gives students the opportunity to help them grow in their stronger in their faith.

Holy Cross have multiple opportunities to serve such as; helping prepare lunches at the City Rescue Mission of Saginaw, raking leaves at Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery, singing and doing crafts with residents at New Hope Valley Assisted Living and Memory Care and the Great Lakes Rehab Center , and also helping at the East Side Soup Kitchen.

At Holy Cross, the students attend a weekly chapel service. Each month a different mission is supported by the students. The students often help lead the chapel for local and national missions.

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another,
as good stewards of God's varied grace:"
